DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 95 begins in the City of Carbon and travels southeasterly and easterly to Iowa 148 approximately three miles north-northwest of the corporation limits of the City of Corning.

Due to a transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑95‑0 (3) ‑‑2M‑02, between the City of Carbon and the Iowa Department of Transportation, that portion of Iowa 95 on B Street from Third Street easterly and southeasterly to the east corporation line was transferred to city jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

Due to a transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑95‑0 (2) ‑‑2M‑02, between Adams County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, that portion of Iowa 95 from the east corporation line of the City of Carbon southeasterly and easterly to Iowa 148 approximately three miles north‑northwest of the corporation limits of the City of Corning was transferred to county jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the description of Iowa 95 in Adams County, as attached, be deleted from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 95 and its extension in Adams County as follows:

Carbon:

Beginning on an unnamed street at Third Street; thence easterly and southeasterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Carbon, connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a southeasterly and easterly direction through Sections 7, 18, 17 and 16-T72N-R34W to a point approximately one-fourth mile south of the NE Corner of Section 16-T72N-R34W (junction Iowa 148).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 95 in Adams County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 95 in Adams County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Locate Iowa 95 and its extension in Adams County as follows:

Carbon:

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Carbon, connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a southeasterly and easterly direction through Sections 7, 18, 17 and 16‑T72N‑R34W to a point approximately ¼ mile south of the NE Corner of Section 16‑T72N‑R34W (junction Iowa 148).
